Privacy Policy

Pace Lap is a personal habit and moderation tracker for iPhone. Your habits, budgets, logs and notes are stored on your device. The app also collects anonymous usage and diagnostic data so we can understand how it is used and fix problems. This policy explains what that data is and how it is handled.

Your habits and logs

Everything you enter into Pace Lap — habits, budgets, logs and notes — is stored on your device. Nothing about your habits or logs leaves your phone.

There is no account and no sign-in. Reminders are local notifications scheduled on your phone.

You can export every log as a CSV file from Settings → Export data, and erase everything with Settings → Delete all data. Deleting the app deletes all of your habits and logs stored by Pace Lap on that device.

What we collect

Pace Lap sends anonymous usage and diagnostic data to our backend, hosted by Supabase. Each record can include:

  • A random anonymous ID generated when the app is first installed. It is not tied to your Apple ID or directly to your identity. The ID is stored locally and is regenerated if the app is reinstalled.
  • A session ID.
  • The name of the event or screen (for example, “habit added” or “log recorded”) and a few fixed details about it, such as “over budget: yes” or “period: weekly”, or how long something took.
  • The app version and build, the platform, the operating system version, the device model, and the time.

We do not collect your name, email address, contact details or location, and we never collect a habit’s name, a note, an amount, or anything you type.

How it is used

This data is used only to understand how the app is used, find slow spots and problems, and improve Pace Lap. It is not linked to your identity, it is not sold, and it is not shared with data brokers.

Tracking and advertising

Pace Lap does not track you across other apps or websites, does not show advertising, and does not combine its data with data from other companies. It does not ask for Apple’s tracking permission because it does not track.

Services we use

The usage data described above is stored in our backend, hosted by Supabase.

We may use the following third-party services in future versions of Pace Lap:

  • TelemetryDeck — usage statistics
  • Sentry — crash reports
  • Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics — usage statistics and crash reports
  • PostHog — usage statistics and session replays, with anything you type hidden
  • RevenueCat — purchase and subscription status, without payment card or other payment details

None of them is switched on in this version. If one is switched on in a future update, this policy will be updated first to say what it collects. Each service has its own privacy policy.

Purchases

Pace Lap is free. There are no subscriptions and no in-app purchases in the current version, so we never receive payment details, your name, or your Apple ID.

Permissions

Pace Lap asks for one permission: notifications. They are optional and are used only to remind you about your budgets or planned sessions.

App Store declaration

The App Store listing describes the categories of data Pace Lap collects, including Identifiers, Usage Data and Diagnostics. None of this data is linked to your identity or used for tracking.

Data retention

We retain anonymous usage and diagnostic data for as long as reasonably necessary to understand usage, investigate problems and improve Pace Lap. Because this data is not tied to an account or your identity, we cannot use it to identify you or provide account-level deletion of telemetry.

Children

Pace Lap is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

A note on wellbeing

Pace Lap is a mindfulness tool, not a medical product. It provides no diagnosis, treatment, or medical advice. If substance use feels out of control, please talk to a healthcare professional.

Changes to this policy

If we make meaningful changes to this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page.
