Pace Lap

Track it. Understand it. Change it.

iPhone · iOS 17 or later

What it is

Pace Lap is for the habits you don’t necessarily want to quit — you just want more control over them. Drinks, cigarettes, caffeine, sweets, scrolling, impulse buys, or anything else you’re trying to keep in check.

Most habit trackers ask you to stop. This problem is different. You might want to do something less, not never. So Pace Lap works with budgets, not streaks: set a limit for the week, log what happens, and keep going.

What it looks like

App Store screenshot headed "Eight ways to start. Or invent your own." A "What would you like less of?" screen with a grid of options: Alcohol, Cigarettes, Vaping, Cannabis, Caffeine, Sweets, Doomscrolling, Impulse buys and Something else.
App Store screenshot headed "Your number. Per day or per week." A "What feels like enough?" screen with a Per day / Per week toggle and a stepper set to 4 drinks per week, above a Continue button.
App Store screenshot headed "Not about quitting. About being intentional." The Pace Lap home screen listing Alcohol at 2 of 4 drinks left this week, Caffeine 1 over today, and Doomscrolling at 1 of 3 sessions left today, above a "Track something else" button.
App Store screenshot headed "Watch the trend, not the streak." The Alcohol detail screen showing 2 of 4 under budget this week, a History bar chart across several weeks, and stats for vs typical week, money saved, under budget, and current run.
App Store screenshot headed "Over budget is amber. Never red." The Caffeine detail screen showing 3 of 2, "1 over — it happens", a History bar chart, and stats for vs typical day, money saved, under budget, and current run.
App Store screenshot headed "A cap just for tonight. Right on your Lock Screen." The Pace Lap home screen behind an open "A night out" sheet, picking up to 3 trackers with a one-off cap set for Alcohol at 5 drinks.

What it does

Reduce without guilt.

Pace Lap gives you a simple way to set limits, track what you actually do, and understand your patterns over time. No perfect streak required. No starting from zero because you went over once.

Set your own pace

Decide what moderation means for you.

Set a weekly budget for drinks, cigarettes, caffeine, sweets, scrolling, spending, or something else. Pace Lap keeps the focus on the limit you chose — not someone else’s idea of what you should be doing.

Nothing resets to zero

Going over your budget isn’t failure.

Pace Lap shows you where you stand without breaking a streak or starting over. One night, one day, or one week doesn’t erase everything that came before it.

Built for real life

Some habits happen in bursts.

Night Out mode gives you a simpler way to keep track while you’re out, without turning the moment into a spreadsheet. Log what happens and get back to your evening.

See the bigger picture

A single day doesn’t tell you much.

Pace Lap helps you see your habits over time — how often you go over budget, when you’re most likely to, and whether you’re actually moving in the direction you want.

Gentle by design

No shame. No red alerts. No lectures.

Going over your limit is shown as information, not a punishment. The goal is awareness and progress, not perfection.

Keep it yours

Your habits are personal.

Pace Lap lets you choose what you track, set your own limits, and decide what progress looks like. There are presets to get started, or you can create something completely your own.
